Durban Gen Actress Nelisiwe Sibiya Speaks Out Against Unauthorized Use of Her Name and Picture
Hey there, fellow entertainment enthusiasts! Buckle up, because we have some drama coming your way! Our beloved Durban Gen actress, Nelisiwe Sibiya, is not a happy camper. Why, you ask? Well, it seems that the organizers of Miss Culture uMhlathuze Municipality used her name and picture to promote their event without her consent! Yikes!
Nelisiwe took to Facebook to set the record straight and let her fans know that she is NOT part of the event, which is set to take place at the Empangeni Civic Centre on Saturday, 4 March. She even posted the poster with her name and picture on it and put a big fat X across it. Ouch!
The talented actress, who portrays Dr. Mbali Mthethwa on Durban Gen, told the press that she was initially booked to host the event but the deal fell through due to a disagreement over booking fees.
“We did not agree on the money they would pay me. They offered me less money that I couldn’t accept,” she said. Well, well, well, looks like someone wasn’t happy with the dollar amount on offer. We don’t blame her, though. Get that bread, girl!
Nelisiwe also warned her fans not to attend the event under false pretenses that they’ll see her there. “I want to warn people not to go to the event because they think they’ll see me. I am not part of it,” she said. Girl, preach!
As for what the future holds for Nelisiwe, she’s still figuring it out. Watch this space, folks! We can’t wait to see what this talented actress has in store for us next.
But wait, there’s more! The organizer of the event, Ntombe Hlongwa, had a different story to tell. Ntombe said that they had booked Nelisiwe as MC and started discussions on 6 January. “We discussed event figures and agreed on what I was going to pay her,” said Ntombe. Hmm, interesting. It seems like there was a misunderstanding about the payment.

Ntombe went on to say that Nelisiwe came back on 29 January asking for something they couldn’t afford, and they agreed that she wouldn’t be part of the event.
Ntombe was surprised when Nelisiwe posted about the event on Facebook, and she’s confused about her intention. “I never had a fight with her. It was just that we didn’t agree on what she requested to be paid. The event will continue as planned,” said Ntombe.
Well, well, well, looks like we have a classic case of “he said, she said” on our hands. We’ll let you be the judge of who’s telling the truth. In the meantime, let’s just hope that everything works out for both parties. And remember, folks, always read the fine print before you put your name on anything!
