DJ Zinhle’s Daughter Discharged from Hospital: A Moment of Relief for the Mother

South African musician DJ Zinhle, also known as Ntombezinhle Jiyane, has shared the good news of her 16-month-old daughter Asante’s hospital discharge. Asante was hospitalised for an undisclosed ailment, causing the “Indlovu” hitmaker and her husband Bongani’ Murdah Bongz’ Mohosana a great deal of concern. While DJ Zinhle expressed her distress over the hospitalisation of her daughter, she refrained from disclosing the nature of the ailment. Finally, on Thursday, she announced on Instagram that her daughter was discharged from the hospital, which made her a very relieved mother.

A Happy Announcement

DJ Zinhle, who has been mourning the death of her baby daddy AKA, took to Instagram to share her joy over her daughter’s release from the hospital. On her Instagram stories, she stated that her daughter had been hospitalised since Monday, and she had been crying every night after visiting her baby. The relieved mother further expressed her gratitude to her partner Bongani for his support during this challenging time. In her post, she wrote:

“Daddy @murdahbongz has been suffering because I have been crying every night after visiting my baby. I could (not) stand leaving her in hospital.”

Another post she shared featured a picture of her daughter, Asante, with a caption that read:

“@asantewithlove hated the drip so much. Again my sweet baby @thando__mokoena was a hero for another one of my babies. @pearlthusi, you should be proud.”

DJ Zinhle thanked her friend Pearl Thusi for supporting her and her daughter during the hospitalisation. The musician’s Instagram stories conveyed the happiness and relief she felt as a mother after her daughter’s hospital discharge.

Mourning the Loss of AKA

The recent hospitalisation of DJ Zinhle’s daughter is not the only challenge she has had to face. She is also grieving the death of AKA, her baby daddy, who was brutally murdered in Durban earlier this month. AKA, whose real name was Kiernan Forbes, was shot outside a nightspot in Durban on February 10, 2023. He was laid to rest in a private ceremony on February 18, 2023.

DJ Zinhle, who had an amicable co-parenting relationship with AKA, expressed her grief over his death on social media. In one of her posts, she wrote about the time she spent with AKA and their daughter Kairo Forbes, and how she would miss him. She wrote:

“Kiernan, I am so sorry that you have been robbed of your time with your daughter, with @nadianakai, Steffan, your mom @lynnforbesza, dad and all of us. I would give anything for Kairo to have more time with you, Kiernan. Her asking questions breaks me. What do I do when she misses and needs you?”

DJ Zinhle also reflected on her co-parenting relationship with AKA and how their differences could not deprive their daughter of a happy childhood with love from both parents. She expressed her gratitude to AKA for loving their daughter the way he did.

Looking to the Future

DJ Zinhle, who is the mother of two daughters, Kairo Forbes and Asante, revealed in an interview with TshisaLIVE that she does not plan on having any more children. She stated that she was content with her two daughters and did not want to have more children because it takes a long time to make a baby.
