Mzansi revisit claims that Simz Ngema was Thabo Bester’s mistress
Actress Simphiwe Simz Ngema has been at the center of social media rumors after admitting to visiting convicted rapist and murderer Thabo Bester in prison in 2018. While Ngema maintains that the visit was strictly business-related and that she demanded money and answers from Bester, Twitter users have been speculating that the two may have been romantically involved.
These allegations have been fueled by reports that Bester cheated on his partner Nandipha Magudumana with a mystery woman. According to TimesLive, Bester rented a home for his supposed “mistress” using an alias. This has led some Twitter users to revisit these reports and speculate whether Ngema could have been the mystery woman.

In a statement released on Wednesday morning, Ngema admitted to visiting Bester in jail in 2018. Bester had hired her for several appearances under the alias TK Motsepe and still owed her money. Ngema claimed that she visited Bester once on April 5th, 2018. Two months later, Bester launched his multi-million rand company 21st Century Media, which had a lavish launch in Sandton attended by numerous celebrities.

At the time, Bester was using the alias Tom or TK Motsepe and had convinced the public that he was living in New York and was related to billionaire businessman Patrice Motsepe. In reality, he was serving time at the Mangaung Correctional Centre.
On Twitter, however, many users claim that Bester and Ngema were more than business associates.
@sirboring_26: “She knew he was Thabo Bester and wanted to profit from the scheme. She’s the side chick to Dr Nandipha.”
@Bee_Loco: “Simz, like Nandipha, was in a relationship with Bester. She probably believed some story about him being innocent and wrongfully accused, and she was also cashing in, so she kept quiet.”
@Ngwenya_PJ: “Love triangle here, Thabo, Simphiwe, and Nandipha”

Twitter users have been raising valid questions about Ngema’s association with a convicted criminal. They are wondering when she discovered that TK Motsepe was actually Thabo Bester, how she knew to visit him in prison, and why she did not alert the authorities to his scam.
They also want to know who the other high-profile figures linked to Bester were, what transpired during her meeting with him, and why she approached him directly instead of going through 21st Century Media.
