Overview of the Position:
Rand Water is currently hiring for the role of Sewer Pump Station General Worker. This position involves cleaning sewer pump stations, wastewater treatment and works, and maintaining the garden. The general worker will also report any problems to the supervisor.
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 or Equivalent
- Previous Sewer Pump Station experience will be advantageous
- Physically and medically fit
Primary Duties:
- Signing the Pump Station Register
- Conducting weekly inspections of the pump stations
- Sweeping floors (if required) during each pump station visit
- Washing floors and walls (if required) on a weekly basis
- Dusting electrical panels weekly
- Washing handrails weekly
- Removing litter from the site and disposing of it in demarcated bins
- Cleaning the yard of pump stations, including garden maintenance such as grass cutting, as needed
Knowledge:
- Basic understanding of Sewer Pump Stations
- Basic hygiene practices
- Safety working procedures

- Good verbal communication skills
