Nelisiwe Sibiya’s Lucrative Deal vs Penny Ntuli’s Underpayment at Gagasi
Former Durban Gen actress Nelisiwe Sibiya has officially joined Gagasi FM, replacing Penny Ntuli who turned down her contract renewal amid underpayment. This comes after the former radio DJ stirred up controversy on social media by announcing her departure from Gagasi FM, citing that R2800 per month was too little.
Penny Ntuli, who stepped down and was replaced by Nelisiwe Sibiya, saw Gagasi FM announcing the hiring of Nelisiwe Sibiya and vowing to have better retention of information than Penny. Nelisiwe showcased the announcement of her new radio show, “Shutdown Yomhlaba,” alongside DJ Sphe, airing live on Sundays from 6 pm to 10 pm.
According to an insider, Nelisiwe signed a one-year contract with a gross salary of R383,066 per year, which translates to an hourly rate of 184. This elucidates why Gagasi FM introduced the #Wegot Talent slogan.
In an interview with the Gagasi FM station Managing Director, Minenhle Dlamini told the Daily Sun that “it’s important to note that salaries can vary depending on experience level. For example, an entry-level radio DJ (1-3 years of experience) earns an average salary of R281,867, while a senior-level radio DJ (8+ years of experience) earns an average salary of R473,709. But there are a lot of factors to be considered to arrive at a certain figure.”
This concludes that Nelisiwe got a lucrative salary.
Social media reacts to Nelisiwe Sibiya joining Gagasi FM:
“I sense that she was offered a good salary.”
“Will she also be getting R2800, or were they taking Penny for a fool?”
“Aaaw why did they betray Penny bakithi.”
