Nadia Nakai Pays Tribute to Late Partner AKA

The sudden passing of Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA, has left the whole of South Africa mourning. His girlfriend, Nadia Nakai, has finally broken her social media silence following the tragic news.

On Friday, February 11, 2022, AKA passed away, and since then, Nadia has been in shock, unable to believe that her partner is gone. In a series of Instagram posts, Nadia paid tribute to the man she loved and shared some of the precious moments they spent together.

Nadia was evidently distraught during AKA’s memorial service, and tears kept rolling down her eyes, leaving the whole country heartbroken. AKA’s death has left a gaping hole in the music industry, and Nadia’s tribute was a reminder of the magnitude of the loss.

Taking to Instagram, Nadia expressed her disbelief that she will never see AKA ever again. She said that she thought they would spend a lifetime together, but she realized that AKA actually did spend the rest of his life with her. Nadia’s tribute was emotional and heartfelt, expressing the love she had for AKA and the pain of losing him.

“My Heart is shattered, this is not what our future was meant to look like. I can’t believe I said my final goodbye to you yesterday. I’ll never see you again for the rest of my lifetime? You loved me loud and proud, thank you baby. Protected me, Prayed for me, inspired me.

“I find it hard to breathe, let alone find the words to explain how much I love you. I’m really going to miss all the special moments we’ve had. This really hurts! I can’t come to terms with the fact that I’ll never hear you say you love me; I’ll never hear your laugh,” a very heartbroken Nadia wrote.

“We had plans,” she continued. “There is no pain bigger than the pain of losing you. I thought I was going to spend the rest of my life with you; I realize you’re the one who spent the rest of your life with me. I don’t know why things happen the way they do, but I’m questioning God right now. Why would he bring us together to only take you away? I just don’t understand. I don’t know how I’m going to do this, going on with my life without you; I just can’t. Rest in peace Kiernan, I love you.”

Nadia’s followers comforted her in the comments section, offering words of support and encouragement. Her tribute was a reminder of the love they shared and the pain of losing a loved one.

During his memorial service, Yanga revealed that AKA was ready to settle down with Nadia because she saved his life. “To Nadia, the first time I asked Kiernan how was your relationship going, he did not hesitate to tell me ‘bra this is it for me, Nadia saved my life’ I thank you for loving my bru and bringing back to him after we thought we have lost him the first time. He loved you so much,” said Yanga Chief.

Another close friend said AKA was planning to propose this year, “He was done. He felt he had no purpose, and he had reached a creating block when they started dating. So, she became his saving grace. Before they dated, everything Kiernan was doing was so he stays alive, but only his daughter and his family were keeping him sane. He was depressed until he and Nadia started dating,” the friend told Zimoja.
