Another prominent South African musician has fallen on hard times and is currently pleading for financial support.

She encouraged people to donate as little as R10 in a post she shared on Facebook that was about Vusi Thanda. She put the following in the post’s caption:

“Life is difficult for him, and there are times when you have to go to the clinic to get therapy. In order to avoid falling victim to a fraud, I will ask him to record a video with his account number.

In the video that accompanies the story, Vusi Thanda expresses his gratitude to everyone who replied to his appeal for assistance by holding up his Capitec bank card, which displays his account number.

“I would want to express my gratitude to each and every person who has replied to my request for assistance. Kindly extend the same consideration to those who are in need. This is my bank card, which reveals both my account number and the name of the bank that I bank with. “I want to express my gratitude to you,” Vusi Thanda stated.

A number of famous people from South Africa expressed their concern for Vusi Thanda. Pearl Thusi, an actress, begged everyone she knew to help Vusi by posting a picture of him on one of her social media channels along with the post.

“This is really incredibly upsetting. Artists who have enlightened and delighted us for many years are currently pleading for our assistance as they struggle to make ends meet. Please, let us be of assistance.

She wrote in an email that “what’s cruel is how the SABC continues to undercut artists as they continue to make money in perpetuity and what’s worse is how artists can’t come together and fight this because we’re so divided… things need to change.” “What’s cruel is how the SABC continues to undercut artists as they continue to make money in perpetuity and what’s worse is how artists can’t come together and

Vusi Thanda, a struggling veteran actor, has received a significant amount of financial support from the people of South Africa.

A heartbreaking video of renowned actor Vusi Thanda, who displayed his card and begged people to help him, went viral earlier this week on social media in South Africa, causing South Africans to be profoundly moved.

The absence of playing roles was the root cause of the actor’s financial difficulties. He made an appearance on The Queen in the year 2020, and his most recent performance was in a Moja Love production called Ikhaya Labadala in the year 2021.

Then, in a subsequent video, Vusi Thanda read his banking information while pleading for assistance. When they saw one of Mzansi’s most renowned actors “begging” for money, South Africans were left feeling profoundly moved and heartbroken.

Following the release of the videos, well-wishers have expressed their condolences by continuing to make financial contributions to the actor.

When Sowetan Live contacted Thanda, he expressed his gratitude for the amount of money that Mzansi had contributed to him and said that it made him pretty happy;

“Ndifuna ubulela abantu bonke nge ncebakazi engaka. [I would want to express my gratitude to everyone who contributed for their kindheartedness] I am grateful that their contributions have brought us to a total of one hundred thousand rand. It makes no difference to me what others think about the fact that I’ve asked for assistance from the general population. People who proclaimed themselves my friends yet were nowhere to be found when I needed them the most are examples of this. Some of them were aware of my circumstances, yet they did nothing to help me.

As a result of his diabetes, Thanda has also been severely impacted by his poor health. He recalled that he shot Ikhaya Labadala while he was sick the previous year because he needed the money so badly. He had no other choice.

His monthly rent is R5,000, and he has been in debt since the latter half of last year.

“I had no choice but to make an appeal to the people of South Africa when I found myself in that position. On Tuesday, I was sitting on my bed when I heard a knock at my door, and it was a pretty harsh knock. As soon as I opened it, I saw that it was from my landlord requesting payment for the rent.

Since the latter half of 2017, I have been unable to keep up with my rent payments. I am behind on my rent by approximately R45,000. The money that I get from my pension (R1,985) is not enough for me to buy groceries, pay for my son’s school fees, pay for his transportation, and buy my diabetes medicine all at the same time. This year, I haven’t even bothered to try out because there aren’t any parts available for individuals of my age.
