Heineken Beverages South Africa is currently hiring and inviting applications for the position of Operator: Packaging. The selected candidates will be responsible for efficiently operating all the packaging equipment to achieve the packaging objectives, including productivity, cost, quality, safety, and morale.

Key Responsibilities

1. Operation:

• Efficiently operate packaging equipment to achieve packaging targets.
• Check equipment availability before start-up.
• Start up, operate, and shut down equipment following standard operating procedures.
• Perform changeovers as per the packaging production plan.

• Prepare and conduct shift handovers at the end of each shift.
• Clean workstations and equipment according to standard procedures and schedules.
• Participate in shift meetings and provide feedback on equipment performance.

2. Maintenance:

• Perform first-line maintenance on packaging equipment.
• Obtain and interpret scheduled maintenance tasks.
• Carry out first-line maintenance as per standard operating procedures.
• Report and record faults and deviations on machines to packaging technician and team leader.
• Adhere to standard safe work procedures.
• Perform related asset care initiatives (First line maintenance).

3. Safety, Health, and Environment:

• Comply with SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) standards and requirements to ensure safe operation of the de-palletizing process.
• Report unsafe conditions and accidents to SHE representatives.
• Follow safe work procedures and use correct PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).

• Segregate and dispose of waste as per waste handling program requirements.
• Participate in safety meetings and committees to promote a safe work environment.
• Ensure the department operates within company SHE standards and the OHS Act.

4. Compliance:

• Ensure compliance with quality standards for packaging high-quality beverages.
• Conduct quality checks on all packaging processes.
• Monitor packaging equipment control parameters.
• Support all quality initiatives.

• Capture data and keep records for reference and auditing.
• Follow and maintain requirements and procedures as laid down in the Quality Systems subscribed to by Sedibeng Brewery (e.g., Laboratory Star System, ISO 9001, ISO 22000, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001).

Qualifications and Experience

• Minimum Matric Certificate/NQF3.
• Minimum of 2-5 years relevant FMCG (Fast-Moving Consumer Goods) experience.
