Meet Dr Unathi Nkayi

My maternal grandfather gave me the name Fundiswa, which I detested as a child because I did not realize at the time that he was breaking a generational curse by giving me that name.

As the only grandchild he ever named, I have the honor of bragging about this fact to all of my other cousins and sisters.

Meet Dr Unathi Nkayi

🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️🙋🏽‍♀️ I finally have an understanding of what he was trying to accomplish for our family. Because of that very issue, his son and his wife, who are my parents, fled South Africa for 11 years and brought us up outside of the country. Because my great-grandparents wanted ALL of us to receive an education during a time when it was impossible for black people to do so due to apartheid. Because of THIS sacrifice, my parents only got to see their own parents twice during this time period.

Now that I’ve gotten used to it…still hate all the abbreviations, Fura, Mafundi, Fufu, etc😩

BUT I think that a good education makes me look good…………..signed, future

Dr Nkayi

Mzansi visited her at her place of employment to offer her congratulations on obtaining a doctorate. The celebrity did not reveal the school where she studied for her doctorate, but many people are motivated by the fact that she has been able to pursue both her education and her career as a full-time performer at the same time.

South Africa’s Doctoral Degree Programs

Recent international policies have encouraged international university cooperation and the exchange of students between nations all over the world. Students have greater access to high-quality educational opportunities and PhD programs in order to facilitate the establishment of a global educational network, which is made possible by the mobility of both students and faculty. The development of international students is supported by programs that are career and research focused.

Through university cooperation, students are given the opportunity to study in different parts of the world, such as Australia, Asia, Europe, and the United States, and are also given the opportunity to have their prior degrees recognized. Students have a variety of study options available to them, and the one they choose to pursue should be based on their personal preferences.

There are a significant number of academic programs that are taught in English across the world, including in North America, Europe, Asia, and Australia. Countries such as Australia, Belgium, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Spain, Sweden, the United Kingdom, and the United States are among the most popular destinations for international students.

Other countries, such as the United Kingdom and the United States, are also popular. However, these countries are not the only ones that provide instruction in the English language. There is an almost infinite variety of educational opportunities available in other parts of the world, ranging from highly ranked institutions to smaller, more specialized schools.

PhD (postgraduate) Degrees
If you are interested in furthering your education beyond the level of an undergraduate degree, furthering your personal development, or pursuing a career in academia, you might consider earning a doctoral degree. The Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree is a postgraduate program that typically comes after completing a Master’s, MPhil, or MRes degree; however, additional requirements may be necessary depending on the university.

The students are responsible for conducting their own research on a subject of their choosing. You will develop your knowledge as well as your analytical skills in a particular or multidisciplinary field, and you will also carry out independent research with the assistance of a supervisor. The amount of time required to earn a PhD varies widely depending on both the country and the institution. Sometimes, in addition to your own research, you will be expected to perform work for the department, such as giving seminars or teaching small groups.

There are some universities that will accept students who are enrolled in a part-time PhD program that is offered through distance education; however, PhD students are required to study on campus under close supervision. There is also the option of studying on campus either full-time or part-time; in this case, the part-time study option will typically last for twice as long as the full-time study option.
